has potential

has potential... perhaps adding a replay button would make this submission look more polished :-) And the trees, if they had more branches... visuals are always nice to look out. And if there was a goat in the background paddock eating grass, wait or maybe a horse eating hay! But then you'd have to put more trees to balance the amount of hay on the grass.. And if your character had a one-eyed pirate patch, but then you'd have to give her a wooden leg & a hook for an arm.. Can't wait for the sequal

Sir-CannabisClock responds:

lol.. ok

Thanks, I think

very deep & intimate...wow

i not only like this flash for what it is, but also for the abstract meaning and what it represents.. loving the rhetorical paraphrases of curiosity and simple concepts; empathy.. that you project deeply into our notions; a very intimate perspective you present, i like your style... the way the sketchy drawings can abruptly be manipulated and illustrate the transcending of the next illusion, liked the 'oriental' japanese Kanji style & aura you tried to recreate - which was a great attempt indeed .. the background music was fluently reflective, a bit sad.. but really made you think - good work overall, nice job

Grizzam responds:

Well it took me a whole 15 minutes to read your reiew thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Dyslexia inhabiting my brain. Thanks, the mood was hard to set beause i couldnt find the right music at first, but im glad to see it worked out.

awesome concept, exceptional sound.. nice

hehe.. lovin' the big frame size dimensions, choice background music selection - it just sounds awesome overall doesn't it ?... it's the kind of music that's played when a scenario that comes worst to worst occurs; utter hardship, pain, and projects the idea of redemption, vengence and revenge.. it brings an aura of excitement, and a surge of adrelanine... loving the style of the character drawings, and the car too, some great camera shots and angles presented there in the car... , the ignition sfk and the squeeling tires were niceee.. i like how you managed to transcend the shooting situation that occured, into an abstract representation of a deeper metaphor interpretation of 'Humpty Dumpty'.. great job, nice work ;-)

SketchMichaels responds:

Nice review, thanks a lot :)

nice twist at the end haha.. conspiracy i tell ya'

hehe what a fun, humorous short.. straight to the point too.. nice to see you 'didn't beat around the bush'.. i've always thought there was a conspiracy behind the materials that consisted of super pellets... this short is a possible hypothetical ;-) is it just me or is the 'replay' button not functioning ? just thought i'd point it out... nice economical file size, nice classical pacman visuals you present.. but the feature i liked the most was the sound elements, especially the part where pacman makes this shocking discovery of such a revelation and the 'dying' sound effect kicks in ahah good stuff.. with the green vomit too, what made you not finish it in the first place ? the project looks really straightforward to me, anyway good job - nice work

asshole2 responds:

woa! big review..thats how i like them ;)

dont give away everything ok?

very melodramatic, up until the ending... but nice

wow, damn.. the introductory frame sequences were very melo-dramatic and well crafted indeed.. choice selection with the background orchestrated music; contributed immensely to the audience being able to empathise with that poor, dirty clock.. it brought an aura of sadness, and somewhat an appreciation for the things we dearly take for granted - i think this was also best conveyed with the screenshot of the poor clock looking into the window of an orange and light blue clock sleeping in comfort in front of a warm, desirable fireplace on a chilling christmas day.. but what was remarkable i guess was how the action sequences were timed perfectly with the background audio piece.. like the introduction of bass when a brick was thrown into that shop.. and the editing and the various camera shots and angles that were featured was great.. the ending was a bit of a shock, but i guess you warned us about it.. funny stuff though haha didn't see that coming, love your work and animation skills - keep up the good work, great flash

Wadezilla responds:

Wow! Thanks a lot! :)

neat little flash, an enjoyable view :-)

hehe, i like it! pretty neat first flash i must say... nice to see it fit in with the theme and spirit of christmas :-) this flash has nice duration and length, good stuff.. it's an appealing view, and most enjoyable.. i like the effort you put in your sound effects, they were great! i like your simple drawings too, they were sufficient looking, but most people didn't think so, like when the guy is sitting in the room with the fire place - that was well drawn, i think it's your style, but anyway... looking forward to see you develop as a flash author, just need a little work with the smoothness and flow of your animations and movements, need to incorporate some motion tweening and perhaps additional frames... it's a great comical storyline too hehe funny stuff haha, loved it all the way through// nice work, good job!

AlterEgoZ777 responds:

thanx...and yes i definetly need to learn bout motion tweens which ihad actually by the end of the movie...

needs more eye candy.. but a nice flash piece

ya' in summary to most of everyone that have mentioned in their reviews.. needs more eye candy.. visuals, animation, movement, motion... maybe a background..anything!!1 but i guess if you're animating a prank call it's hard to think of stuff up... also, needs more variety of frames of his mouth moving to improve the lip sync-ing... if that makes sense ? not just an open and closed red oval, but it was sync'd okay i guess... but the drawings were nice, like the style and how the colour was applied.. hehe the speech audio was funny overall, although a pretty dangerous prank call if you ask me.. i mean, think of the scenario - what if his wife hanged up in the middle of that phone call and got out a baseball bat before that guy had any time to inform the wife that it was a prank... like ouch, majow ownage.. nice twist of irony at the end - good job nice work :-)

rudiger2 responds:

that has to be the smartest review i have ever read well done. i agree with everything there snd yes i will make it better. E.G show the wife and cut from scene to scene. thankyou for the review

haha at the recording..

hehe nice lookin' intro. where the preloader is supposed to be... yea the backgrounds were great eye candy... i liked how you applied the shades of the teal coloured structures.. hehe i also liked the addition of that red 'BAIL' text in the top left hand corner , nice visuals with the blood work, and when they fell over.. it worked well with the nicely timed skate sound effects.. i like the depth and length of their conversations too - it was well worth it's small economical file size hehe.. it's a shame about drake and doug though <3 haha but it was some funny material..yea and the recording at the end was a great bonus... hilarious. Are you gonna' make a sequal about his escape ? good stuff, great job mann :-)

TeknoGames responds:

WOW.... Thanks!

are all your reviews like this? :)

a lot of style and flair, nice smooth animation

wow... morbid stuff there. Like you put in your author's comments, the monotone projector sound effect loop rolling in the background seemed to somewhat create an aura of negativity and eerieness to it... uncertainty, despair.. which i think was the approach you were going for - good job on that! hehe... you even applied the monotone style to the pre-loader, which was a smart thing to do - nice editing with the NG logo.. i couldn't hear the sound effects you mentioned in your authors comments... ? bleh maybe i'm not listening hard enough, but maybe you could enhance a sound effect of the clay guy in his desperate struggle with himself.. and have a sound effect when he is rolling on the floor.. that would be the best approach me thinks. The animation is good, i like it for what it is and shows... but i also like it for what it represents.. nice flash, great job!

dschouschegan responds:

Thank you for the nice review and suggestions!

an appealing view... makes me wanna watch more

poor servant... had to remember all that information he was told by the 'dying man' ... dang, that is so much. But on a serious note, a well refined animation... nice atmospheric background music selection, don't really understand it at the moment - but i will look into the previous episodes... it interests me, the storyline makes you want to know more... very appealing view... his voice had a dry, creepy vibe to it also, i laughed at Horaces appearence - he looked funny... he was like the brightest lookin thing in the whole room.. good flash, good job

Violet-AIM responds:

I prefer to keep the Horace episodes kind of short (partly for the shorter wait time). Also the episodes of Horace are not continuing, so each episode is different. Basically, he wanted to be buried with that jewel (which is part of the recipe for eternal life in this ancient ritual), but when he woke on the full moon, the jewel was missing from his hand, and so he is out for revenge, and he suspects his servant took it (regardless if he did or didn't). If you want to know the full story, watch "The Ghoul" (1933).
